Choose from unlimited designs and colours

I was given the choice to from a wide selection of coloured pebbles.  I can also mix pebbles of different colours.  I chose to use a 70-30 mix of 2 types of coloured pebbles, giving a light earth tone for the floor.

I can also given the option to create my own design for the floor, for example, like the one in the photo below.  But I prefer my bathroom to have a simple floor without design.

Plastic Tiles as the foundation for the pebbles

These are the plastic tiles based that are used as a base foundation for the pebbles.  They can be bent and have holes.  They are laid interlocked on the entire surace of the toilet and bathroom.

Pebbles floor is slip-proof and porous

The pebblewash floor is actually anti-slip due to its rough surface.  As water seeps through the pebbles, making it porous, there is no water that run-offs the surface of the pebble-floor.  All these make it safe for elderly and young children to use.

Constructing the resort-like feel of Pebblewash floor

I got the idea to create a more presentable look of my bathroom. I don't want to spend a bomb to hack away my existing tiles and re-lay with new ones. The hacking will also create a big mess and I would not be able to use the bathroom for 2 or 3 days. I chanced upon the idea of using pebbles that is laid over the existing floor tiles. Apparently, it is a more cost-effective way to create a new flooring. It will also give a more resort-like to the bathroom. The photos below show how the workers construct the new pebblewash floor for my bathroom and toilet.

The workers took less than 4 hours to overlay my tiles with the pebblewash mix. The mix is nothing but pebbles and epoxy glue. There is acutally 3 layers, the first layer is plastic tiles, follow by a layer of netting, the 3rd layer is the pebble-mix. These 3 layers adds 3cm to the floor of the bathroom. After the work is completed, the epoxy glue has to be left to dry for 6 hours before the bathroom and toilet can be used.

Bathroom - the ORIGINAL Condition

This is the state of my bathroom and toilet 2 weeks ago. The blue ceramic floor tiles were installed about 10 years ago. The cement grout in-between the tiles had turned black due to discolouration and mould. I decided that I should have a makeover of the bathroom flooring....
